The
movie, “Crazy Rich asians” (CRA), was released in theaters on
August 15th, 2018, and is based on the novel of the same
name, written by the asian author, Kevin Kwan. Now, the narrative of
both the book and film, go something like this: Rachel Chu, one of
the story's protagonists, agrees to attend the wedding of her
man-friend's best buddy, Colin, who lives in Singapore.
Nick, Rachel’s man-friend, while in Singapore, introduces Rachel to his family and Nick's mother takes an instant disliking to her. This happens cause Nick's mom believes Rachel’s a gold-digging peasant, due to the fact that Nick was born into one of asia's richest families. And unfortunately for Rachel, Nick never told her this. Now, Nick tells Colin, he plans to propose to Rachel, but Colin sees the turbulence that's gonna' cause in his future, due to Rachel coming from humble/working class beginnings (reference the fairy tale/movie(s): “Cinderella”, “Pretty Woman” and “Maid in Manhattan”).
At some point Rachel and Nick have a falling out, due to Nick's disapproving family—and at another point, they reconcile. And ultimately, they wind up throwing a “crazy rich” engagement party, after which, I guess, they live happily ever after.
Now, having read this, I hope you picked up on the fact that I can't stand “rom-coms” (romantic-comedies), or the hyper-sentimentalized types who watch them. But in regards to Kevin Kwan's books, what I didn't know is this: the CRA novel, is part of a trilogy—with the other 2 book titles being: “Rich People Problems”, and “China Rich Girlfriend”.
By now, you should've picked up on the fact that all 3 of these tomes, have the word “rich” in their titles. And a little later on in this post, I wanna' mos def take a look at Kevin's “China Rich Girlfriend” novel, and put that under a bit of a microscope. But for now, let's move on...
The movie, “Searching”, is a thriller released in theaters on August 24th, of this year, and it focuses on an asian father (Dave Kim), who relentlessly looks for his daughter after she goes missing. And what makes this flick unique, is the father's obsessive search is done, almost completely, on smartphones and computer screens.
Now, unlike the syrupy-sweet CRA, I have seen the movie Searching. And I can say, it's well-done. But another thing I'd like to point out is, this flick was “green-lit” behind the success of CRA—and one more fact worth noting is, how I can't, in good faith, recommend that any Black man or woman go see this film. And that's cause there's so much negative “Cinematic Symbolism” throughout this flick, in regards to how we are portrayed.
And there's 3 scenes, in particular, where this happens—so let me break those down right quick...
There's a moment in this flick, where the white female detective (Rosemary Vick) who's helping Dave find his daughter, has her past accomplishments televised. And in that montage, there's a segment detailing how she started a humanitarian initiative that helps ex-cons find work. Then, what's shown is a picture of her in front of the aforementioned ex-cons—and prominently displayed on her right side, directly behind her, is a Black man wearing a hard hat, at a construction site. Now, mind you, there's white men standing behind her too, but the men are situated in such a way, that features the Black man as the face of america's “ex-cons”. And, since this movie makes it clear, that Dave's family didn't fraternize with Black folks, when you see one, they stand out like they're spotlighted.
And for future reference, what whitey loves doing, is placing us in the background of a movie scene, whenever something dangerous or negative happens. Cause when that's done, the negative connotations whitey wants affixed to us, are more easily inserted into our subconscious. And this happens cause, with one of us in the background, your conscious mind is less aware that you're seeing a Black person—but your subconscious sees the whole of any picture. Remember, movies are one of the most effective tools for conditioning the masses, cause when you're eating in a darkened room, you're more relaxed and your conscious guard is down, thus, your subconscious is more susceptible to whitey's “programming”.
Also, this was the reason TV broadcasters used to call the hours between 6pm and 8pm “prime-time”—cause after folks worked, came home, and ate a meal, they'd sit in front of their TV (mind you, this was in the days before the “internet” boom, y'all). And after having that meal, their minds were in a more relaxed state, thus, their subconscious would be more receptive to TV advertising.
Now, there's another scene in this flick, where Rosemary Vick, is interrogated to find out if she might have something to do with the abduction. And besides the interrogation room being dark, the detective interviewing her is a Black man, who's wearing all Black, while Rosemary dons a dolorous frown, beneath a disheveled mop of brunette hair.
And, what whitey wants most out of these scenes, is for them to reinforce the “pre-programmed” triggers in our subconscious, that connect the word “Bad” with “Black”.
Now, the most egregious of these scenes, by far, involving our people, is one where a Black Anchorwoman breaks the news about Dave's daughter possibly dying. And once again, I'll say, there's such a dearth of our people in this movie, that when one of us appears, they're in stark contrast to everything else. And let me reiterate, the only time one of us shows up in this flick, is under a state of absolute duress.
Now, I remember in my freshman year of high school, I was in an english class with yet another covertly bigoted white man, for a teacher. And mind you, this class was comprised of mostly young Black men and women, like myself. And after we took one particular test, this teacher decided to read all our scores out loud, so he could show us lazy negroes, that one of the only people who passed the test was an asian girl. Now, this was my, and our, indoctrination into the stereotype of asian people being harder working and smarter, than everyone else—especially, us lazy negroes.
But there's 3 facts, this idiotic bigot bastard of a teacher, failed to tell us about asians in america—and those are...
Now, this is the most vital factor in what makes our young people, especially our young Black men, hate school. For example, in this same english class, we were reading the book, “A Hero Ain't Nothin' but a Sandwich”. And for anyone who's read this book or seen the movie, you know it's about a young Black man who gets hooked on heroin, while living in abject poverty—and that pretty much sums up what young brothas and sistas learn about themselves in the american (mis)educational system—well, let me take that back, we also get taught that our ancestors were slaves for 400 years. And those lessons usually end with narratives about the “Civil Rights Movement” (trick), and the white fascist freemason, Martin Luther King Jr.
Also, I'll never forget how Dr. Huey P. Newton, the brotha that started the revolutionary group, the “Black Panthers”, said of his grade school experience, that he didn't know what he did not like about being Black, all he knew is that he didn't like it. And this came out of Huey's autobiographical book, "Revolutionary Suicide". And I think that tome is a mandatory read for every Black man and woman viewing this post.
Moreover, this is why I wrote a post detailing how a Black parent can go about homeschooling their children. And I'll leave a link to that post, at the end of this one.
But when anyone talks about why young Black men, don't wanna' go to school, it has nothing to do with them not wanting to learn, and everything to do with them not wanting to embrace and endure, years of being in an institution that makes them hate themselves. And like I said before, this doesn't mean they're stupid, rather, it shows they're innately smart.
Now, I'll never forget the scene in the Spike Lee movie, “Do the Right Thing”, where one of 3 older men, who routinely sit on a neighborhood corner, says of a Korean store owner, who opened his store after a single year of being in america, that “...either them Koreans are freakin' geniuses, or you Black guys are just plain dumb.”
Welp, if you believe this narrative whitey gave us, then you have no choice but to feel that way. Fortunately though, being a curious type of fellow, I know why asians have an easier time opening up retail stores in our neighborhood, than we do.
And one of the main reasons is this: in 1988, President Ronald Regan, signed into law something called the, “Civil Liberties Act”—now, this piece of legislation not only came with an apology, for the american gov't putting asians into “internment camps” after the bombing of “Pearl Harbor”, but behind this, each individual camp survivor got $20,000 in reparations money, for their “suffering”. Mind you, (most of) these asians were only in these camps for 4 years.
But whitey's not gonna' tell us america's been unfair to Black folk—cause he wants us to follow the narrative, just like my 9th grade teacher did, that asians are much smarter and harder working, than us shiftless, dumb-founded negroes.
Also, when I was growing up, I remember that a stretch of stores in my neighborhood, were almost completely owned by Black people, whether they were american citizens, or they came from the islands (Jamaica, Haiti, etc.). Within a decade, half those stores were owned by asians, and the other half were owned by latinos.
Journalists at the “Washington Post” newspaper, found in a study, that Black applicants for loans, are rejected at more than double the usual rate for every type of loan, up to and including, ones for opening a business. Actual stats say: the rate of business loan denials amongst Black americans, is 19.3%, as opposed to asians and latinos (combined), which came in at 9.6%, and finally, whitey's denials came in at 7.9%.
And mind you, anyone who thinks that Black people are rejected more for loans, cause we're less qualified to get them, should note how stats bare out, that Black people who earn more money that their white counterparts, are still twice as likely to get turned down for a loan. And I'll write a post about that in the future.
Now, I know I said I'd only list 3 facts that weren't given to my 9th grade class, by that inbred bigot of a white teacher—but let's go for 4.
Welp, if you've ever heard of the “Black Wall Street” in Tulsa, Oklahoma, you know that this was an area of the country where Black people had their own supermarkets, bus lines, airplane fleets, banks, etc. And, in the early 1900's, we were thriving so much financially, that we were outpacing whitey in some business sectors—that's why whitey bombed the Black Wall Street in 1921. And even after that, we built those businesses back up in 5 years.
Mind you, there were several Black communities like this at the turn of the 20th century. So whitey knows what we're capable of when we work together, like we did under segregation. That's why he's so reluctant to give Black americans, business loans. And mind you, Black americans performed so well under segregation, that whitey not only created the integration laws, to get us away from our businesses, but to this day, they'd rather give a business loan to a Black African, Haitian, Jamaican, etc., instead of a Black american, cause he knows how gangsta we can be on the financial tip, when we're unified.
Now, getting back to Kevin Kwan's book, “China Rich Girlfriend”, and the fact that Kevin consistently uses the term “rich” in his tome's trilogy—let me just say, we've been sold a bill of goods that tells us about the thriving prosperity in asia—but I'd like to introduce 3 facts to this narrative to see how “rich” asians, and specifically, the chinese really are.
The World Bank, which did a study on China's economy in 2010, revealed that almost 360 million Chinese people, live on less than $3.10 a day.
Now, while Kevin and all the other lackeys of global white fascism, tell us how “crazy rich” Chinese folk are, these are the kinda' primitive conditions the majority of them suffer through.
So, let's contextualize this info. with 3 mo' facts about how the rest of asia is fairing financially...
According to the "Borgen Project", which is a not for profit organization, 227 million people are said to be living in conditions of famine in Africa, as opposed to 552 million in asia. Now, I remember growing up and watching several “UNICEF” sponsored commercials, that showed African children with bloated bellies and flies swirling around them in states of extreme famine. But according to stats, UNICEF should have showed more of these commercials featuring asian children, cause they outnumber the amounts of our people living in those conditions. And the only reason they didn't, was UNICEF, and organizations like them, were tasked by white fascists, to give our people images that would make us hate ourselves and everyone who looked like us.

Every Black man and woman reading this should understand that the
reason asians are getting all these affirmative action dollars, is
cause out of every kind of non-white person, they (fair-skinned
asians especially) have the least amount of genetic power to
breed whitey out of existence.
And
ultimately, this is why asians are being portrayed as smarter,
harder-working and “crazy” rich.
Lastly,
here's an ad that's currently hanging on a wall, in a “Dominoes” Pizza retail store (right). And I took this picture on my phone's camera. Now, this image is brimming
with symbolism, that's ultimately saying one thing:
the reason the phrase “Oh, yes we did”, which comes from the
vernacular of Black people, is above the pic of the fair-skinned
asian child, is cause (like I
keep saying) the gold standard of cultural currency, is
“Black Street Cred”. And this, more than anything else, is what whitey's using to sell products. And to make it
plainer, this pic is really saying, “Black Cool Points” are more bankable, than any asian's cultural stereotypes or credentials.Hell, even putting the word “crazy” before an adjective, comes from our vernacular (crazy big, crazy cool, etc.), so asians are also copying our style.
So,
I've said all that to say this: asians ain't crazy rich, they're
crazy poor y'all!
And
to put it in more layman's terms, they CRAZY PO' fam!
So,
as a Black person reading this, you should under no circumstances,
let whitey lie to you about the exaggerated work ethic or intelligence, of any asian person, or group of asian people.
And like Sam L. Jackson said in Spike Lee's movie, “Do the Right Thing”: “That's the double truth, Ruth.”
